The New Forest Junior Triathlon - 3rd July 2005

More than 250 children took part in the 4th New Forest Junior Triathlon, hosted and marshalled by Totton Running Club. The event, part of the BTA South East series, was held at Tottonians RFC with the swim stage in Totton Recreation Centre and cycle and run within the playing fields of Totton College.

The excellent turnout was remarkable as the event clashed with Hampshire Development swimming meet.

A large number of New Forest schools were represented with Durlston Court School in Lymington providing 9 children and Orchard Junior School at Dibden Purlieu providing 8 children, which gained honours with Adam Taylor placed 2nd in the boys age 8 category.

Local junior triathlon club, Chapel Tri Stars provided 14 entries with the following children amongst the trophies:

Caitlin Stewart - age 8 1st
Charlie White - age 11/12 1st
Peter Dibben - age 13/14 3rd

Trophies were presented by local GB swimmer, Alex Savage.
